How Do I Create a Simple Workflow?

Having clearly defined workflows can help streamline your business processes and increase efficiency. In Pneumatic, workflows are based on workflow templates. A workflow template serves as the blueprint for all the workflows that are launched from it. Here are the steps to create a simple workflow template in Pneumatic.

Create a New Workflow Template

To create a workflow template, go to the Template Builder and select New Template. You can choose to create a new template from scratch or use one of the templates available in the template library as a starting point.

Add Workflow Kick-off Form Fields

After creating the workflow template, add fields to the kick-off form to obtain the necessary information from the user or software that will be launching new workflows from the template. Add fields for data that you want to use in your workflow steps.

Add Workflow Steps

Add steps to the workflow template, and provide a description of what is to be done in each step. Assign one or more performers to each step, i.e., the individuals or teams responsible for completing the task. Finally, add task output data fields to pass information to the subsequent steps in the workflow.

Enable the Workflow Template

Once all the necessary steps have been added, enable the template. This will allow workflows to be launched manually or automatically using Zapier or the API.

Summary

In order to launch workflows, you need to first create one or several workflow templates to launch them from. Creating a workflow template is a simple process that involves creating a new template, adding fields to the kick-off form, defining the steps, adding fields and performers to each step, and enabling the template. With Pneumatic, you can automate many of your business processes and improve your team’s efficiency.
